Baby elastic is a specially structured elastic textile material produced with the braided technique. Unlike other braided elastics, it has a continuous groove running through the centre.
This groove structure creates two critical differences:
- Sewing ease — the needle and thread sit inside the groove, the stitching does not shift, and the seam line stays neat
- Softness — a softer hand-feel compared to other braided elastics, with less pressure on sensitive skin
