Sports and outdoor industry products demand a lot from the material: a tent cord must stretch and recover, a backpack strap must not fail under load, a tracksuit waistband must keep its elasticity after washing. Tekis weaves, knits and twists all of these materials — elastic, cord and woven webbing — in its own facility. Unlike trading companies, quality control is done in our own plant. This page explains where our products are used in the sports and outdoor sector.
Use Cases
Paracord — the standard cord for camping and outdoor use — consists of a braided outer sheath and loose inner strands. Our Type III–style construction balances strength with flexibility, and the inner strands can be removed for fine work. With 28 colour options it covers a wide range of uses, from outdoor gear to crafts.
Elastic cord has a stretchable core inside a braided cover, so it stretches and recovers. It is used for tent tensioning, equipment fastening and bungee work — from light applications to industrial bungee. The cover material and core determine how far it stretches and how it wears; tell us the application and we’ll recommend the right construction.
For sportswear we manufacture round and flat elastic for tracksuit waistbands, sports underwear and activewear, with a shrink-resistant finish so it withstands repeated washing. In the fitness segment we develop resistance bands, support bands and fitness accessories from our own elastic.
Woven webbing is used in backpack straps, equipment slings and the load-bearing parts of outdoor gear. It is woven from 6mm up to 160mm wide, with the required strength, colour and jacquard branding. For load-bearing applications, send us the job for the correct width and construction.
