What Is Buttonhole Elastic, How Is It Used?
A specially built elastic textile with holes (buttonholes) at regular intervals. How it works:

The elastic is sewn into the waistband or threaded into a casing.

A button is added to the garment.
3
The button is passed through one of the buttonholes.
4
As the size grows or shrinks, the button moves to a different hole.
5
The waist size becomes adjustable within a fixed range.
vs standard elastic: Standard elastic stays fixed once sewn. Buttonhole elastic is adjustable by button position — the same garment fits a range of sizes.
